Chakra Balancing                                                                    6 CE Hours 9-4

The seven major Chakras are who and what we are, what we feel, and how we think and change.  They are how we express ourselves and how we create.  The goal of this workshop is to read, clear and balance the energy of the Chakras by using a fascinating and effective technique.  Bring 2 sheets, 2 pillowcases, face cradle, bolster and oil/lotion. Optional: pendulum, crystals and stones. $150

 

Chronic Neck Pain                                                                   7 CE Hours  9-5

Neck pain is a chronic problem is our society.  The goal of this workshop is to learn effective techniques for treating anterior and posterior musculature to relieve this pain and restore balance and full function to the head and neck.

Ethics and Professionalism (Incl. Std. V)                              6 CE Hours  9-4

A system of code of moral principals and conduct adapted by an individual, group, or profession.  In general, massage therapy ethics cover:  adhering to prevailing laws, upholding the dignity of the profession, respecting each client, staying committed to quality, working within the appropriate scope of practice, being client-centered and remaining service-oriented.  We will discuss why the participant shall adhere to ethical boundaries and perform the professional roles designed to protect both the client and the practitioner, and safeguard the therapeutic value of the relationship. (Std V)  $150

 

Focus Your Attention -

Anterior & Posterior Legs and Gluteals                               7 CE Hours 9-5

This workshop will focus in on the muscles of anterior and posterior legs: Tibialis Anterior, Peroneals, Quadriceps, Adductors, Gastrocnemius, Hamstrings and IT Band. The gluteal muscles will include: Gluteus Maximus, Gluteus Minimus, Gluteus Medius and Piriformis. Techniques utilized will be: trigger point and friction using thumbs, knuckles, fingers, forearm and elbow.  Body mechanics will be addressed. You will be able to immediately include all techniques shown into the repertoire of your routine.  This workshop is geared toward the therapist who wants to treat clients who complain of discomfort in their anterior legs, posterior legs and/or gluteal area.

Focus Your Attention –

Neck, Arms & Chest and Abdomen                                      7 CE Hours 9-5

This workshop will focus in on the muscles of the neck: Sternocleidomastoid, Scalenes, Trapezius and Sub-occipitals.  The arm and chest muscles will include: Biceps, Triceps, Deltoid, Forearm Extensors and Flexors and Pectoralis Major. Abdomen muscles affected will be: Diaphragm and Iliacus.  We will also influence the Large Intestine. Techniques utilized will be: trigger point and friction using thumbs, knuckles, fingers, and palm.  Body mechanics will be addressed.  You will be able to immediately include all techniques shown into the repertoire of your routine.  This workshop is geared toward the therapist who wants to treat clients who complain of discomfort in their neck, chest and/or breathing difficulties.

Focus Your Attention –

Upper and Lower Back                                                           7 CE Hours 9-5

This workshop will focus in on the muscles of the upper back: Rhomboids, Subscapularis, Supra and Infra Spinatis, Levator Scapula and Thoracic Erector Spinae.  The lower back muscles will include: Quadratus Lumborum, Gluteus Medius and Lumbar Erector Spinae. Techniques utilized will be: thumbs, knuckles, fingers, forearm and elbow.  Body mechanics will be addressed.   You will be able to immediately include all techniques shown into the repertoire of your routine.  This workshop is geared toward the therapist who wants to treat clients who complain of discomfort in their upper back and/or lower back.

Intro to Deep Tissue                                                 12 CE Hours  9-4, 2 Days 

Learn effective techniques that can enhance your massage while treating the whole body.  These techniques will minimize injuries and fatigue when performing deep tissue work.  Use of elbows, forearms, knuckles, and fist will be explored.  Body mechanics will also be a focus of this workshop.

Japanese Massage                                                    16 CE Hours  9-6, 2 days

Anma-style massage is based on the theory of Meridians and points called Tsubos.  The goal of this workshop is to learn the basic massage techniques used in a Japanese Massage in order to help break up the congestion and open the channels so that the energy can run freely through all parts of the body. Meridians and Tsubos will be discussed only lightly.  This workshop is hands-on so most of the time will be spent learning new strokes and applying them to specific parts of the body. Most of the techniques can be incorporated into a Swedish Massage or you will be able to give a full one hour/one and a half hour Japanese Massage.

Low Back Pain                                                                           6 CE Hours 9-4

Low back pain affects just about everyone.  Low back pain is self-limiting; a person is always "on guard", expecting pain.  The goal of this workshop is to identify and effectively treat tight muscles using trigger point and PNF stretches. 

Wear sweat pants or something loose and comfortable, no jeans.  Bring 2 sheets, 2 pillowcases, face cradle, bolster and lotion.  $150

 

Pathology ~ Impingement Syndromes                                    7 CE Hours 9-5

We will discuss the 4 impingement syndromes, Cervical, Brachial, Lumbar and Sacral.  You will learn signs and symptoms and effective, hands-on techniques to address these common ailments and assist your client in their healing.

Pathology – Tendinitis Lower Body                                        7 CE Hours 9-5

This workshop is geared for the therapist working on a client who has been diagnosed by a doctor with tendinitis.  The two tendinitis pathologies that we will address are:  Patella Tendinitis (Runner’s Knee) and Plantarfaciitis.  We will also address shin splints and hammer toes.  Each tendinitis pathology has its own muscles involved, treatment and exercises.

Pathology – Tendinitis Upper Body                                        7 CE Hours  9-5

Simple techniques to help your client who has been diagnosed by a doctor of: Tennis/Golfers Elbow, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or Rotator Cuff.  The goal of this workshop is to learn tests to determine which tendon is injured, learn an effective treatment and suggest exercises that will assist your client in the healing process of their recovery.  Tests to document improvement will also be addressed.

Sacred Hot Stone Bodywork                                    12 CE Hours 9-4, 2 days

Discover the healing and purification power of water, stones and heat combined to relieve tight muscles, increase blood flow, remove negative energy, and sedate the central nervous system.

WORKSHOP GOALS:  Become skilled at giving a full body treatment or how to integrate the use of hot stones in your current massage treatment. Learn placement techniques.  Gain knowledge of how to take care of your stones, warming/cooling techniques and how to handle the stones safely.

Please bring oil, not lotion, 2 sheets, 3 small towels, 3-pillow cases, face cradle & bolster with covers.  $400 +$30 Lab Fee
