This is a shot of the
connection from the carriage to the X axis scale. The ball link
arrangement allows a bind-free movement even if the scale beam is not
perfectly aligned to the bed.

This is a shot of the 6" caliper that I mounted on the Y axis using the same ball-link method. All of the machining of the mounting parts was done with a table saw, hack saw, drill press, file and the lathe. Some day I'll get that mill! |
