Unlike black tea, water for green tea should be heated to slightly below boiling point to avoid bitterness.
Make double-strength tea using the tea bags and water. Heat the water to boiling and measure out the desired amount into a 20-to-24-ounce jug to cool slightly; the water should be no more than 180 to 190 degrees F. Add the tea bags; cover and brew for 2 minutes or to taste.
When the tea is brewed, remove tea bags, add ice cubes to chill, and serve.
