Janet Seltzer

Janet Seltzer began competing with dogs in the breed ring 25 years ago gathering more than 20 home bred champion Dalmatians as well as road help for poodle, terrier, and sporting dog handlers. She takes herding lessons with her dogs and currently competes in obedience.

Janet started the agility program at Top Dog in Flanders, NJ when they first opened in January 1994. She became a certified instructor in that summer. Sunrise Agility started in Janet's ½ acre fenced in yard in the summer of 94.

She has titled two Dalmatians, two Italian Greyhounds, three Border Collies. Her students compete in USDAA, AKC, and NADAC.

She feels that continuing education makes a more up to date instructor, beginning by attending the first course design seminar held in the US. The following instructors' seminars have been attended. From England - Jeff and Chris Bolton, Ruth Hobday, Peter Lewis, and Mary Ray; from Belgium - Guy Blank; from Sweeden Pascal Peng. World team members from the USA; Dan Dege, Linda Mecklenburg, Stuart Mah, Pati Hatfield-Mah, Nancy Gyes, and Paulena Renee Hope; other prominent seminar givers - Sharon Nelson, Stacy Peardot, Bud Houston, and judges Melinda Harvey, Shane McConnell and Lisa Layton. Janet attended the Clean Run Camp the first two years it was held.

The Sunrise students have titled in second level USDAA; third level in NADAC; in AKC they have four MACH with more to come this year and over a dozen Masters titles and countless more in the first second and third levels. Private instruction is during the day and 4 levels of group instruction are offered over two evenings.
