location was changed from the Library to the Auditorium due to conflict
booking. (Not HEA fault)

Secretary reported that the proper building use form had been filed and
approve.
BCEA Report: Betty Meeks Manning:
PAC – political action
committee = must be as a payroll deduction, must be done annually, send to
Betty Manning
NJEA Report: Committee of 1000 needed
to make calls to educators in Bergen Cty.
3 hrs of volunteer time = gift card reward

Ferrante reminded
the body that TALC meetings should be occurring on a regular basis, even if
there are no issues. He reminded the group that “issues” must be contractual!
Please advise when meetings are scheduled and send reports.
President’s Report –
Health – open enrollment is NOW
American Education Week is
11/17 to 21, gave
poster to Elementary Schools
Voting– deadline October 16
Board of Ed Meeting – are rotating through
the schools. At the schools the agenda is followed, but no voting. The
following HEA members agreed to “cover” the School Meeting:

1/13 Fairmount – Walker

Membership

Negotiations

Next General meeting for negotiations is
in April.
