Fran Borg announced beginning September 2007 every school should have a
mandatory monthly HEA building leader meeting. It was suggested that a review
of the dress code be made at the initial meeting. It was noted that violation
of the dress code would result in the following consequences: 1st offense—verbal reprimand from the
supervisor or principal; 2nd offense—write up; 3rd offense—write up into jacket
for appropriate measures. If anyone
feels "targeted," take a picture document and file a grievance.
In October there
will be one general meeting to be held at the High School for all HEA members.
Fran stressed the
need to review all items on the contract renewals: Columns, Grade (teachers are Grade 5), and Step. Non-tenured
staff on contract for maternity leaves, etc. cannot count the time towards
tenure except after being hired to take an open position.
A grievance was
heard and posting rescinded. Review new
postings for requirements.
It is important to
keep copies of all certifications, PD certificates, transcripts, etc.
