The May 19, 2004, HEA General Meeting was called to order in the Middle School Auditorium at 3:37 p.m. by Vice President Frances Borg.

Teachers were thanked by Diane Menditto, Negotiations Chair, for their presence at rallies during the contract negotiations.

President Nikki Van Ess presented an overall view of the steps of the contract negotiations process. Specifics regarding the contract and salary guide were discussed, and the Negotiations Team answered questions from the members.

It was stated that teachers would receive a single retro check on either June 15 or 22, 2004.

HEA members were encouraged to vote to accept the contract, keeping in mind how hard the Negotiations Team worked to preserve the health benefits. The Negotiations Team was complimented on their outstanding performance.

Building Representatives also received the contract ballots for their individual schools.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:07 p.m.
