WELCOME TO MY CLIMBING PAGE

I put this together primarily to post my trip reports for recent years. I have done that. Just click on the PHIL'S TRIPS button (under the "Major Subpages" heading) on the sidebar to the left. It will bring up an index of the reports of my trips including reports written by others. Most of the reports are about climbing at Seneca Rocks, WV or local crags in the Pittsburgh region. Most of the trips reported were with the ECP (Explorers Club of Pittsburgh) or the POC (Pitt Outdoors Club).

New Feature!!!

Click here to play a game of "Hangman" with climbing terms. Eventually I hope to add a page of learning materials - some for beginners, others for sharing know-how among more experienced climbers. For now, the hangman game is just hanging there...

I have also posted or linked to other adventure reports -- reports written by friends and companions of trips they made during the year. I even included some reports by people I don't know, but the trips were exciting enough that I want to get to them easily. Just click on the OTHER TRIPS button to see these.

I have added links to information about climbing areas -- especially those that are reasonably handy to Pittsburgh climbers. Tim Anderson has done a world of work in developing these, and I gratefully link to his postings as well as to others. Click on the CRAGS button to see these.

Finally, I have added links to other sites and items about rock climbing that I found interesting or useful. They include pages for climbing clubs, personal pages like my own, commercial sites for equipment, and separate technical articles that I find interesting or useful. Click on the LINKS button for these.

The top yellow button on the navigational bar on the left takes you to " Phil's "Interests Page" (the "parent" page). The bottom four buttons will take you to pages dealing with some of Phil's other interests -- Computing, Travel, Games and Puzzles, and Research Methods and Statistics. However, so far this Climbing Page and the Computing page are the only ones up and running. Phil and Irene have not done the traveling they expected to do in retirement (except trips to California to visit their son and their daughter and her family). And Phil has not gotten into games and puzzles as he thought he might. Nor has he kept up with research and statistical methods since retiring.
