Palm computing!

Hello folks!
Years later I finally upgraded my orginal Palm IIIxe to a Treo 650 and love it! This handy dandy little device packs a dual band cell phone (analog AMPS towers are being phased out and are expected to be gone in 2007), MP3, video player, computer in one device that fits on your belt. I still think my reasons for stick with Palm OS over Windows CE are as valid today if not more so than when I was using the Palm IIIxe. Avantgo is still one of the best things you can put on a Palm device and is still free and easy to use! I still talk with users who have Windows CE devices and they claim how they are far better than Palm OS, once again, a PDA is not meant to be a desktop. Who wants the complexity of having to click, left click, shift click etc.

374 3760 I want to start of saying I prefer the Palm operating system versus Windows CE for several reasons. First off, don't we already place a little too much stock in Micro$oft? It looks like even the German government is concerned over backdoors bugs and sluggish performance. Also, two thirds of the Palm devices out there are currently running Palm OS. Also, I have been told the US Navy has adopted the wireless Palms on Aircraft carriers. If it is good enough for them it is likely good enough for me. My desktop crash's and needs to be rebooted often enough. I don't need my Palm device doing this also! J I received a Palm IIIxe as a Christmas gift last season and didn't think I'd have as much use for it as I do. It is handier than any laptop could be and easy to use. I have yet to fill its spacious 8MB of ram. This little machine is great for tying into Microsoft Outlook's calendar and contacts list as well as playing a mean game of Chess. Another thing Palm OS came first. Why play with imitations? Sure CE can run microexcel and microword or whatever they call them but who cares? It's Palm PC, not a desktop. J A good accessory for your palm will include a decent carrying case and screen cover such as the "WriteRight's" from Concept Kitchen.

Avantgo has to be one of the best links you can use with your Palm (or Windows ce) device. You can link it to thousands of pre-existing Avantgo Web Pages or even add a link to your own page! These can be configured with or without graphics and the link depth can be set as well as the maximum size in kilobytes per site.
Add CNN to your PDA each hot sync with Avantgo
