"The Saga of "Garage-Kitty:"
This poor feline (a.k.a. 'Garage-Kitty') was found near the new Home Depot in Wilbraham Massachusetts on 10/28/2001. This cat would just not take no for an answer and was assuredly not people shy but quite hungry nonetheless. On 11/14/2001 I got a second call about garage kitty. Garage Kittys name turned out to be "Hector." Hector's owner was quite glad to know she was still ok and not in the belly of Fox!
Day 3, Garage kitty found a place where she can almost get her nose out and smell freedom, sweet freedom! To help herout I took her carefully out and placed her in a caged in outside dog kennel that isn't being used anymore. In feline joy shedropped down and rolled around in the dirt and leaves and enjoyed herself and sniffed every inch of the cage and looked offinto the woods where she dreamed of chasing mice!
Day 4, garage kitty found she can see out a window if she hops on my jetski. I unrolled some indoor/outdoor carpeting tomake a part of the floor a bit warmer and softer. Garage kitty quickly found she can get a good scratch off this andsharpened her nails a few times. Plus now when she eats she can sit down and relaxing without freezing her tail off! Also,this was Halloween and Garage kitty helped with scary meowwwing sound effects!
Day 5, garage kitty takes a trip to the Vet. I think this Vet was more interested in going home early than in actually doing agood job. However I was insistent that even an experienced Vet can't tell if an animal has F.I.V. or feline Leukemia just bylooks. This 'vet' at an unnamed 'small animal' clinic in Monson gave her a dose of ringworm medicine and cleaned up a cuton the poor kittys neck. It turns out garage kitty is a Calico over 10 years old! A good age especially considering she wasliving in the great outdoors! Garage kitty was missing most of her teeth and one of her gums is extremely swollen. As goodan excuse as any for canned cat food I think! The results of the tests will have to wait until tomorrow.
Day 6, garage kitty gets taken into the big WARM house! There are other cat's inside here that aren't too friendly. Guessthey are jealous of her good looks!
Day 18, a second phone call. This time its her original owners! Oh she's going to be missed! A few characteristics wheregiven by her owner that didn't make the website or the posters and I got a promise I could come and see her after theThanksgiving holidays are over. Can't be too certain now a days! Especially with such a friendly trusting cat! It turns outgarage kittys name is Hector! I guess she had a wandering spirit and wandered off a street or two from where she lived.
