This laptop is operating under Kernel version 2.6.19.2
NOTE: This version of the kernel seems to fix many of the ACPI problems being reported on other pages.
Basic Installation of Fedora Core 6:
Why to use FC6: because it's available!
Obtaining FC6: save yourself some heartache, download the DVD version.
Installing is relatively painless
Used init level 3 until I started figuring things out.
Setting up additional features for FC6
Set up yum and get updated immediately
Any other additional features you can think of
Unresolved issues
Much of the internal chip information is hidden by the nVidia chipset. Will recompile the kernel with I2O support to see if the kernel can pick up any additional information.
ACPI isn't handled properly
Computer locks at random. Workaround is to add acpi=off to the boot params
powernow-k8 MP systems not supported by PSB BIOS structure
Configuration Files
Add Livna and FreshRPMS repo files to yum.repo.d (links below)
